Growing New Believers in an Atmosphere of Grace

by Pastor Barreca on Jan 31st 2010 (AM)

“How can a church help weak Christians become strong?

Specifically, we want to look at new believers. Now, granted not every weak Christian is also a new Christian. But every new Christian is weak, in the sense that they are just starting to walk and need to grow in maturity. While the words “new believer” are not explicitly in the text, We will apply this to a local church setting to learn how to grow together as believers.

The goal is the same as mentioned by Paul in (Ephesians 4:13) "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Church’s ought to desire the maturity of new believers. This sermon is an attempt to guide the church into avoiding the pitfalls that hinder the growth of new belivers, and creating an atmosphere of love in which they can grow.
