Stop Passing Judgment!
Today we begin a series of FOUR SERMONS from Romans 14. The theme of these messages is that believers are not to be judgmental in matters where we disagree about activities that are permissible in the Christian life.
The four sermons are as follows:
1. Stop Passing Judgment. 14:1
2. Growing New Believers in an Environment of Grace. 14:2-4
3. Judgmentalism - the Danger and the Cure. 14:3-10 (especially 3, 8b, 10b)
4. How to Handle Disputable Maters with Grace. 14:13-23
This is an important series for believers who hold a high regard for the inspiration of Scripture and holy living. This is true because in our effort to maintain holiness, it is very easy to become judgmental of others. It was true for the churches in Rome and Corinth. It is also true today.
This sermon will examine three key phrases from Romans 14:1.
First, we are told to "accept" other believers.
Second, we will examine who are the ones who are "weak in their faith."
Finally, we will study what it means to "pass judgment" on other believers."
