2008 Scripture Memory Challenge

Our pastors have challenged the congregation to memorize twelve passages of scripture this year.  Each of these passages contain a clear presentation of the gospel.  Having these passages committed to memory will give you a powerful resource when sharing your faith with others!

JANUARY  (Romans 10:13)

"for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

FEBRUARY (Acts 16:31)

""They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.""

MARCH (John 5:24)

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."

APRIL  (Ephesians 2:8-9)

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."

MAY  (Galatians 2:16)

"know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified."

JUNE  (Acts 13:38-39)

"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses."

JULY  (Matthew 7:13-14)

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

AUGUST  (John 3:17-18)

"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."

SEPTEMBER  (Matthew 16:24-25)

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it."

OCTOBER  (Romans 5:8)

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

NOVEMBER  (Romans 10:9-10)

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

DECEMBER  (Romans 6:23)

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
